Still Wakes The Deep - Poem
About two months ago, I was doing some random browsing online when a certain expression caught my eye. That expression was, "Still Wakes The Deep" and, to me, there was just something so ambiguous about it, something so beautiful yet terrifying at the same time and I felt compelled to compose a piece based on it.
I choose to take more of the serene route, instead of a darker standpoint, while writing, as I felt more connected to that softer, calmer element the concept entailed. The poem, upon its completion, spoke about, the sound of stillness at the bottom of the ocean. I tried to imagine the sounds of muted beauty, the stillness of moving waters, and the tiniest flicker of life in a uninhabited place.
Yes, if you read that last sentence you'd probably say none of it make sense, but that is where, I feel the magic and, multi-faceted ambiguity is really captured.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the read,
Best Wishes to you,

In the depth
Of oceans and sea
There lies a silence
A stillness complete
The world is but muted
Movement is but a fraction
There is just the heart and soul
No need for any angry action
But sometimes even in all the stillness
There lies movement only seen by those who understand
A soft traverse of waves
A gentle wash onto your hand
The sea is alive
In the stillness it's awake yet silent
The depth, in the night
Still whispers it's love, in the soft, serene and quiet
Feel the stillness
Understand it's magical beauty
Bond with flowing rivers
For it's waters ride on for eternity.
