Memory Lane - Poem
Taking a walk down Memory Lane.
I don't know about you but when I was younger, I always thought that Memory Lane was an actual name for some road in America, namely, in Brooklyn or New York City. However one day I asked my mother what it meant and she told me "Memory Lane" was just a term used to describe the memories in the brain.
That made sense. So, cool.
Recently, I was thinking about the expression one Saturday evening and it occurred to me to write a poem based on what I originally thought Memory Lane was. Give some personification to a rich and meaningful expression. So, here it is.
I hope you find it enjoyable.

Memory Lane - Poem
Taking a walk down
Memory Lane
Tonight, as the sky is clear.
The breeze is crisp and the air, fresh
I am safe, nothing to fear
The breeze is crisp and the air, fresh
I am safe, nothing to fear
Memory Lane,
A road of freedom,
Thoughts can be heard,
Voices can be listened to,
And the heart can be reached.
A road of freedom,
Thoughts can be heard,
Voices can be listened to,
And the heart can be reached.
Memories so sweet,
Dance peacefully in front of me.
I remember them as they pass,
And they remember me.
Dance peacefully in front of me.
I remember them as they pass,
And they remember me.
We share a smile, a wave,
And we dance to the next thought oncoming.
As memories turn the corner
A soft, gentle song they are humming
And we dance to the next thought oncoming.
As memories turn the corner
A soft, gentle song they are humming
