I Seek Your Presence - Poem
About a year ago, Yonatan Shainfeld, a well-known Israeli singer, released a song called "Avakesh Panecha" (I Seek Your Presence), in which he speaks to G-d and tells him, that despite making promises and vows of change at the start of the previous Jewish New Year, he is ashamed to admit, he has fallen short of his aim.
But he says "If it possible to repent to You, G-d, with only You hearing my voice, than it is worthwhile for me to seek Your presence and try again this coming year."
Today, as I write this, it is now the 1st of Elul (the month before the Jewish New Year) and also the first day of the Shofar Blowing, where we begin to hope and pray for a second chance to try and fix our mistakes and hope for change.
But we also hope and beg to see the presence of our King... Avinu Malkenu
Written below is a poem based off the song I spoke about. I hope you find it enjoyable and that it inspires you.

I Seek Your Presence - Poem
It's been so many years
Full of fears
And tears
And I still try
To hold on
To be strong.
But I feel I'm about to slip
Be devoid
Of my grip
I don't know
If I can hold on for so long.
All I need
Is for you to reach out
And take my hand
Hold me tight
And raise me high
Higher than before
I just want to take my chance
To soar
So, please,
Keep hold of me.
I just want to see your presence
Feel your love, your care
But I can't seem to find it
Anywhere.
All I ask, all I seek,
It's to see you in this world so bleak
Reach out to me with your love.
Please, just give me a hug!
