My Friend Across the Land - Poem
No words, for what can you say that will be able to describe ALL that sincerity, closeness and love that there is between you and your friend?
Recently, I wrote a poem, doing my best to describe a connection between myself and a friend. I know I said that in some cases there may not be words to describe such a splendid connection, but in this case, there was.
I sit at
home
But my friend is across the land
He is miles out of my reach
On soil past ocean he stands
We share a
special bond
My friend and I
And it’s still there
Even if he is in the heights of the sky
My heart bursts with beats of longing
My thoughts in a trance, repeat
I miss my friend, I miss him so
Come near to me, let’s us take a seat
I miss the fun we had
I miss his smile, cheer and care
But even if he is not here with me now
I know he will always be there
In my heart
I wish to dedicate this poem to a very dear cousin of mine who has moved out of the country due to his recent marriage. This poem was written in his honor and I wish him only success, happiness and joy with everything he wishes to achieve!
