Lonely - Poem
I've always had a fascination with drama films, especially when the main character is a child or young adult. The emotions are so raw, real and intense, that many times I find myself watching specific scenes or listening out for a specific line on repeat. Literally.
Earlier this week, after watching a music video for a song, in which the main character is a young, lost, lonely boy, it inspired me to tap into my heart and try to produce a poem based of the emotional backstory of the music video and rawness of the visual performance.
Here is the poem which is entitled "Lonely"
I hope you enjoy it,

Lonely - Poem
Sitting in the playground,
Surrounded by the buzz of sound
But the voice inside, it’s talking to me
Keeping me down
Instead of sun, it’s all the rain
Puddles instead flowers, millions of tears
Where is my happiness, where is my joy?
Can’t I find it again?
I sit all alone,
No one seems to care
Just my fears for company.
I need, I want, a friend
To stand beside me
To chase away this loneliness
I am so lonely…
I hear the voices diminish
Quiet on the playground, all alone
But nothing’s changed because it’s always been this way
I need, I want a friend,
But nobody cares to extend a hand
To show me the light
If only I could cure this loneliness
I am so lonely…
Sitting in the playground,
Surrounded by the buzz of sound
But the voice inside, it’s talking to me
Keeping me down
Instead of sun, it’s all the rain
Puddles instead flowers, millions of tears
Where is my happiness, where is my joy?
Can’t I find it again?
I sit all alone,
No one seems to care
Just my fears for company.
I need, I want, a friend
To stand beside me
To chase away this loneliness
I am so lonely…
I hear the voices diminish
Quiet on the playground, all alone
But nothing’s changed because it’s always been this way
I need, I want a friend,
But nobody cares to extend a hand
To show me the light
If only I could cure this loneliness
I am so lonely…
