Patterns On A Misty Window - Poem
Yitzy Schweitzer
I wake
up one morning
To the
sound of storm and rain
I open up my eyes
And peek through the shades
I see the gray clouds
I see the diamonds, the rain, as they fall
I want to take a closer look
So I move towards the center of my window
Minutes go by
The silent tik-tok sounds a thousand times
But I am oblivious to that
I am watching this storm, I hope you don’t mind
Suddenly I notice
Patterns on my window
I stare back at this creation
I study it, where did it come from?
I don’t know
I realize pretty quickly
That this pattern is the work of my own hand
I was so focused on this storm
To design this pattern… Well that was not planned
But this pattern stares at me
Speaking of many lines, edges and shapes
As I study it, it dawns on me
This pattern looks really great
It captures a fragment of moment in time
It is a simple moment, but this pattern elevates it’s
simplicity
I follow the pattern once more
A piece of art.
