Teenage Perspective Poem: Haunted Heart
I am sure many of my readers know what a haunted house is. If you have never read about it in novels, or seen it in some scary films, you most definitely know about them through some scary rides at theme parks. If you were ever on these rides that featured scary objects, creepy surroundings and music, then that was most probably a type of haunted house ride.
Earlier this week, I found a certain song online named "Haunted House" and after a couple times listening to it, I had a great idea for a poem which was to write something about a teenager who has a !Haunted Heart", meaning that he has been through so much mental and emotional trauma in his adolescent years that he feels afraid of the ghostly, scary thoughts and emotional well being of his heart, hence the title of this poem "Haunted Heart"
One final note before you read the poem. I have never written a sequel to one of my poems before, however, after writing this one, I can confirm this poem is now a sequel to the "Mystery in the Mind" poem I wrote a couple of week ago.
Thanks for reading this introduction and now I hope you enjoy reading this poem.
My heart used to be whole, but it’s torn,
My soul was youthful, now old and worn,
Emotional chains pull apart,
Can someone help heal my haunted heart?
All those nightmares, I woke up scared,
All this pain, all this fear,
I don’t even know where to start
Can someone help heal my haunted heart?

Teenage Perspective Poem: Haunted Heart
I walk out the door,
Into the blustery winds,
of the chilling night,
Feeling a stab of pain,
My body trembles,
My hands shake,
My heart, is heavy with a thousand aches,
Why do I have to live like this?
How is this real?
Why is not a dream?
But if I was dreaming
Won’t this be a nightmare?
I hear the screams feel the tears,
Hear the shouts, feel scared.
I begin to shiver,
This is real,
And I must live with it.
But how can I find
The power inside
When my heart is traumatized?
I can’t ever seem to heal
The wounds and scars of my haunted heart.
The ghost of my past,
Seems to last,
Staying in the corner of my room,
Compelling me to face certain doom.
Even when I try to break free,
The pain is too much for me,
The wounds continue,
To bleed anew,
What am I going to do?
What am I going to do?
Into the blustery winds,
of the chilling night,
Feeling a stab of pain,
My body trembles,
My hands shake,
My heart, is heavy with a thousand aches,
Why do I have to live like this?
How is this real?
Why is not a dream?
