Love Has No Colour- Poem

The world has so many colours which brighten up our daily lives. From the pristine and beautiful blue that stretches for miles around our skies, to the fresh green that encompass our plants and vegetables. Every colour plays a part in the world and each colour adds meaning to its partners.

The poem written below "Love Has No Colour" which I originally titled "The Colour Red" describes the sometimes daily struggles brought in to the world because of racism. In recent times there have been so many reports that tie together police corruption and racism and it has gotten to the point where almost every cop who is actually well-meaning and caring, has to state clearly to the "colored criminal" that he is not going to act our of racism but out of a genuine desire... to help... to serve... and protect.

I hope you find this poem enjoyable

Love Has No Colour - Poem
If we all bleed the same blood
The same red pulses through our veins
Why must be judged, profiled, stereotyped
Based on our ethnicity, or colour on our face?

If we all bleed the same blood
Then we are all brothers
So, why the conflicts, feuds, and keeping distant
Disconnected from each other?

Who cares if skin was coloured?
Why should that pull us apart?
Love has no colour, respect is the same
You will find it in a person’s heart

See the skin, not as coloured
But as a human being like you and I
Look at their hearts and souls, not their skins
A fine sight of respect and care will meet your eyes
