Weeping Candles: In Memory of Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt''l - Poem
When the news broke this past Friday, that the gadol hador, HaGaon HaRav Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim Kanievsky zt''l had passed away at the age of 94, the entire Jewish world went numb with pain. Rav Chaim, the holy Rav Chaim, was gone. His exalted soul had ascended heavenward, taken into the arms of Hashem, as the Jewish People of Israel and abroad were left to digest the news, in numb shock and sadness.
Everyone coped with the news differently. Personally, I was quite shocked and wanted to do something in memory of Rav Chaim. This past Sunday, I decided to pen my thoughts into a poem and after a couple of minutes I finally had my result
It is a great privilege for me to share this poem with you. I hope you enjoy it and may any inspiration you take out from this serve only as a zechus and aliyah for the pure and righteous neshama of:

Weeping Candles: In Memory of Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt''l - Poem
A nation stands in shock,
A giant so humble has been taken away,
A nation weeps and prays with fervor,
For a time of clarity, of happiness, no pain.
A thousand candles align,
Waiting to be lit,
They catch our nations tears as they fall,
And a flame is now on the wick.
A flame is now on the wick,
A tear captured in its purest form,
A weeping candle tries to shed light,
On a landscape so forlorn.
A forest, a universe of Torah has gone quiet,
The passing of a giant, leaves a void so great and silent,
The weeping candles mourn in a splendid unity,
Of a million tears crying... on a million unified flames
