Becoming a Leader For Tomorrow When You Lead by Example - Poem/Short Story
The following post contains both a poem and short story written below.
Up first is the story which I originally saw as a video short from Meir Kay. It is about uncovering your potential to become a leader for a time called tomorrow.
Up first is the story which I originally saw as a video short from Meir Kay. It is about uncovering your potential to become a leader for a time called tomorrow.
The poem following that, is about leading your life by the great morals and principles you believe in, as well as the great many actions you do.
I hope you find both of them to be enjoyable.

One day a professor was finishing up his class and as the final activity, he picked up a small circular box from his desk and held it up in front of the class, "My dear students" he said "in this box, I have a picture of one of the worlds greatest leaders from the last one hundred years. Whoever can correctly guess whose picture I have in here will get no homework for a week".Yitzy Schweitzer
Becoming a Leader For Tomorrow - Short Story
Well, immediately, every hand rose up! :) as expected!
The professor chuckled "I love this enthusiasm, you guys are great!" and than called on one of the students, Joel, to answer "Steve Jobs" the young man said.
The professor complimented the guess and asked a second student, Casey, who answered "Mother Theresa."
Once again the professor complimented the guess and asked one more student, Nathaniel, confidently answered "It's gotta be Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."
The professor nodded and then asked his students "What qualities do you think make a good leader?"
He called on one student Katy, who responded "Someone kind and respectful that listens to what the people have to say." The professor nodded, than asked Nathaniel, who responds "Someone who confident, intelligent and has swag".
The professor laughed and than told his class, "You guys did great here. So, now I'm gonna hand the box over to one of you and than just pass it around let everyone look at it."
As one of the students was looking at it the professor asks, "Joel, who do you see in there?" to which Joel responds with surprise, "I see a mirror... I see myself...
I am going to finish the story here and present the poem entitled "Leading By Example" now.
Leading By Example - Poem
To be a leader does not mean,
You must have money, fame or power,
To be a leader does not mean,
To manipulate, scam and trick.
To be a leader does not mean,
Being cunning and arrogant,
To be a leader does not mean,
You must lie and intimidate.
To be a leader means,
To lead by example,
To be a leader means,
To follow the right principles.
When you lead by example,
You do the right thing,
Not for fame, fortune and respect,
But because it is simply the right thing to do.
When people see you,
Leading your life by the correct example,
They will be inspired,
To aspire,
For greatness.
Lead the world,
By example of the principles and morals
That are true.
Because being a true leader
Starts
With leading yourself towards
Who YOU want to be
