Soaring Like A Butterfly: In Memory of Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstein Zt''l
When the news broke on Rosh Chodesh Iyar that Rabbi Zechariah Shimon HaKohein Wallerstein zt''l, the beloved educator and lecturer had passed away from a short illness at the tender age of 64, everyone who knew him was shaken. From his students to his family members, to those countless lives he touched and impacted with his shiurim seminars and lectures, everyone mourned in their own way, remembering the man who inspired them to be a better, happier person.
Having listened to some of Rabbi Wallersteins classes myself, in the past, I was inspired to create a poem in his memory. The title "Soaring Like A Butterfly", is a nod to his popular organisation "Ohr Naava Women's Torah Center", which he founded in 2004. The organisations logo is a butterfly and their tagline is "to keep flying, but most of all, to keep changing", which ties in nicely with the butterfly, which starts off as a caterpillar and changes into a beautiful, colourful butterfly.

Soaring Like A Butterfly: In Memory of Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstein Zt''l
In a field so full of wonder,
Where nature calls out so tenderly,
A little butterfly, so young,
Spreads its wings and begins to take flight.
Flying with purpose,
Flying, with an objective in mind,
He won’t back down, he will rest not,
Until he can see the soft ray of success.
This butterfly,
He represents you and I,
Because everyone of us,
Has a mission to accomplish.
We open up our soul,
to hear the voice of our heart,
And we begin our ascend,
Towards greatness.
Never backing down,
Despite the storms,
Always pushing,
A force against the winds.
Will we see the success we long for
Or is it just a fantasy?
You’ll find the answer,
To that question,
If only, YOU are ready to soar.
So..
Are you ready to achieve your goals
And see the image of success?
