Take the Rope - Poem
We all have our own personal struggles in life. Some of us may struggle with our finances whilst others have trouble with certain handicaps or illnesses. Some of us may struggle with our personal connection to G-d and some may struggle with anxiety or being to self-critical.
Regardless of what happens to us in our lives, the one thing we must realize and believe is that all of this comes from G-d who, with unmatched love, is watching over us and is giving us the strength to come through our difficulties, intact, happy and whole.
In the following poem I discuss the idea that a rope can save a person from drowning at sea. I make a connection between the turbulent waves and the struggles that life throw our way. I explain how the Torah is like our lifeline, a rope, connecting us back to the shore, and ready to pull us away from pain.
I hope you enjoy it

Take the Rope - Poem
Why is it that a rope,
Can save you from drowning?
What makes this rope so special,
That it can save a life?
It is because a rope is strong,
Full of power and oh so firm,
The rope is tied in a special way
That it won't break.
In the same way, this rope
Is connected to every Jew,
Because whenever we're struggling, about to lose our way and drown
G-d's heavenly rope,
Of Torah and Mitzvos,
Will connect us to the sand on the shore.
Torah and Mitzvos were given
With so much love and care
So, the rope with which G-d saves you
Is made with love and care as well
The knots and strands
With all of the other materials
Was designed by a loving hand
G-d don't want you to drown
And so with love he saves you
So, please, take hold of the rope
Feel the love with which is was made
LIFE is precious to wash it away
Please, come back to shore.
