Colorful Stories - Poem

Last week, while trying to come up with a poem for the Queens Jubilee, the main concept I wanted to write about was the colors that one might associate with royalty such as, Royal Blue, Purple or Red. As hard as I tried however, no poem was forthcoming until I would eventually write "Crown of Royalty", one of the poems I uploaded last week.

It was during this little window of time, where I was trying to write a Royal Poem, that I came up with the one written below. Based, as you might have guessed, on the prompt of royal colors, this poem offers that concept in what I believe is a more lighthearted sense. Although there is no mention of royalty in the poem, I still feel connected to it and wanted to share it with you.

I hope you find it enjoyable to read,

Colorful Stories - Poem
Standing at the canvas,
Holding the paint brush.
Creating an image, slowly, with the rhythm of time.
There is no need to rush.

One color and than another,
One pattern of many stripes,
Varying shades
Across the spectrum.
Some colors are darker,
Some are lighter.

Image is almost complete.
Just one last dab of one last shade.
Standing back, looking at the creation,
I am so proud of what I have made.

This image has a story
Told throughout the different colors.
If an image has the ability to speak,
Now would be a the time to listen...
For a tale is being painted... on the canvas...
