Crown of Royalty - Poem
In a recent discussion that I had with one of my subscribers, he suggested I should try write a poem about the Queens Jubilee. After thinking about it, I took on his suggestion and began thinking about what I could possibly write. I eventually had a couple of ideas in mind, but, when I went to write them down, something just did not feel right.
Finally, I had an idea to create a poem about a crown, as in my mind the crown is the ultimate symbol of royalty, majesty and monarchy. The crown is most probably the most popular item of any royal dress code. It felt like the perfect idea had finally started to take shape so I sat down and began writing.
Here is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it.

In a vast, large treasure room,
In a castle somewhere on the edge of town
Amongst the many gems, diamonds and pearls,
Rests, a beautiful golden crown.
The pride of this castle
The highest symbol of royalty
There is no other ornament quite like it
With it's warm glow, and sense of majesty
It lights up the great hall
With it's elegance and and its beauty
Spreading awe and admiration all around
For it is quite a sight to be able to see
And at the end of the banquet
When the celebration is drawn to a close
The beautiful, majestic golden crown
Is returned to the treasure room, back to it's home
