Hope Never Dies - Poem

 I was recently re-watching one of my favourite films of all time, when I found this quote in one of the scenes. Obviously, I had watched the film before, so I knew the dialogue quite well, but when I heard this line again, it must have stirred some special memories inside me, because, while thinking of new ideas for some poems, this line jumped out at me and began turning the cogs in my brain.

Before I continue, allow me to share this line with you. I think you will like it.

"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies"

Just thinking about the depth of the line, I realised quite quickly, that obviously a poem is just waiting to be written. I sat down, with this little line and its accompanying idea, bubbling away in my head and began to write.

Hope Never Dies - Poem
When times are tough
I hope for better moments
When life gets me down
I pick myself up with a little hope

When the darkness spreads across the land
I hope for a new day of sunshine
When tears of pain fall from my eyes
I hope to have another reason to smile

When strong winds come rushing in
I hope for a calmer breeze
When I slip and fall back down
I hope to have the strength to rise again

Hope is a good thing
Maybe the best of things
And no good thing ever dies
 
So, when the day is gloomy and sad
I hope to have another day of happiness
