Rejoicing in Jerusalem - Poem

This past Friday, I was conversing with one of my subscribers, when he suggested that in honor of Shabbos Nachamu, I should specifically write a happy, joyful poem. That night, while saying the tefilah of Lecha Dodi in shul, my eyes fell on the words "ישיש עליר אל'קיך כמשוש חתן על כלה" - "May g-d rejoice over you, like a groom rejoices over his bride" - and I had a very interesting idea.

The idea I had was that those words are so appropriate for Shabbos Nachamu because, right after Tisha B'av, all we want is for Mashiach to come and redeem us from exile so that we may go our holy city of Yerushalayim and celebrate with Hashem, just as we would when celebrating and dancing at a wedding, with a lot of joy and good cheer.

Throughout Shabbos, the cogs of poetry kept turning in my head the more I thought of the idea and after Shabbos, early Sunday morning, I wrote out the poem, which I am, of course, sharing with you in honor of Shabbos Nachamu.

May the good cheer and happy rhymes within this poem, allow the comfort to enter your day and may we soon, real soon, merit the ultimate comfort when the Shofar Shel Mashiach finally sounds out.

Best of Wishes and Blessings,

Rejoicing in Jerusalem - Poem
Can you see that eagle as he flies through the sky?
Watch him, watch him, soaring so high,
Let your eyes follow him as he lands down on the ground,
For our flight to Jerusalem, come on, we are home bound!

Grab your bags, my dear sister and brother,
Wake up your souls and join with each other,
Reality check done, yep, it is what is seems,
We are finally going home to the city of our dreams!

Feel the energy as, our friend, Mr. Eagle comes down to land,
Can you sense the holiness of the place where you stand?
Can you see the third temple, the kedusha so pure?
Have you ever seen anything like it before?

G-D has brought us home, come on, lets dance
Brother, come, join me, in uniting our souls and hearts
This dance is all for G-D, with us may he join and celebrate,
Like a groom rejoices over his bride on the wedding day!
