Queen - Poem
Thursday, September 8th 2022, will live long in the hearts of the people of Britain and the world over, as that day marked the end of an era, the second Elizabethan era, to be exact, when Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest serving monarch, passed away at the age of 96, ending her reign of seventy years and changing the face of Modern Britain forever.
It is still hard to imagine the throne without The Queen. it is hard for me to even write about The Queen. How can I describe what she meant to the people of her country? How can I describe the fact that she served for so many years, to the point that many people, only have ever known her to be on Britain's throne? How can I describe that ever-enjoyable sense of humor, coupled so exquisitely with that sense of regality and duty? How can I describe the fact that despite her royalty and regality she always felt, simply, as one of our own, one of us?
I think it does not need description? I think just leaving them unanswered tells you everything you need to know.
As my own mark of respect, I would like to present to you, a poem I wrote about The Queen. I hope you will appreciate it just as I do and I hope you enjoy it.
G-d, may you protect the soul of our dear, departed Queen,
Queen Elizabeth II,
Elizabeth Alexandra Mary,
21st April 1926 - 8th September 2022.

Queen - Poem
7 decades on our countries throne,
So royal and regal, yet one of our own,
With love, humor and duty, you led us along,
Making us smile, keeping us strong.
And now, you've gone,
But your spirit will live on inside our hearts,
Our queen, for so long,
Served with dignity till the end, right from the start.
You were the face of our country for many years,
Now so many changes, questions, fears,
But your legacy will guide us, whatever may be,
Your smile, a constant in our memory.
Even though now you are gone,
Your spirit is still felt in the beat of our hearts,
Our queen, still standing strong,
Long may we remember our monarch.
7 decades, the jubilee was quite a sight,
I can still picture the platinum skies,
A nation United,as together as could be,
Cause Her Highness, Queen Elizabeth II reached a reign of 70.
