When All Is Lost, Then ALL Is Found - Poem

 Recently, a popular American actor who was stationed in Hawaii got a phone call from his assistant, who told him he had ten minutes left to live. His assistant said the reason for this was that Russia had just launched a ballistic missile which was headed directly for Hawaii, arriving in ten minutes.

After that, the actor along with everybody else on the island got an emergency text warning them to seek shelter immediately and that this was not a drill. The actor tried calling his daughter but she did not answer. And so, upon realizing that by now he only had a mere few minutes left to live...

He walked out on to the beach, stood there, watching the waves hit the shore... realizing that he had been blessed to live a very good life.

He spent the next few minutes simply thinking about all the reasons he had to be grateful that he had lived this life. He realized he had so many things to be grateful for and he could not help but smile... even though he knew he was going to die within a couple minutes.

But it turned out to be a false alarm and thankfully no missile was headed towards Hawaii.

When asked about this experience later on and about whether or not it changed him, the actor simply said eight words.

"When all is lost, then ALL is found"

I was inspired by the story to write a poem incorporating those beautiful words from the actor and so I set to work straight away. After a few thoughtful and enjoyable minutes I had the completed poem which I am immensely proud of.

I hope this poem inspires and uplifts you, as it did to me while writing it.

When All Is Lost, Then ALL Is Found - Poem
When the world becomes dark,
With the terrors of nightmares,
When life losses it’s colour
And the wind blows out it’s spark
When the room is cold,
The flames no longer burn
When the soul is torn
And the heart starts to hurt

When I am all alone
And have no place to go
One thing is clear to me
One thing I do know
When everyone turns against me
Pushes me hard to the ground
When all is lost,
Then ALL is found

Looking deep within
The layers of my heart
Seeing potential there
I can sense a new start
Forgive and forget
Try my best as I begin again
Success will come soon
And I will fight until than

When my dreams become haunted
With the monsters of pain
When sunshine hides
Behind merciless rain
When friends turn away
Not seeing me there
When I feel unwanted
Everywhere

One thing is still clear
One thing I’ll always know,
Wherever I am now,
Wherever I may go
I remember these words
When your song plays all around
I know when all is lost
That is when ALL is found

If you look within your soul
You will see to it to
The spark that can’t burn out
The spark that flickers just for you
You will hear that song
Oh, you will hear that sound
You’ll know when all is lost
That is when ALL is found
