Flowers of Gratitude - Poem

Hi Everyone,

The following poem you are about to read was written a couple of years back. I don't remember exactly when I wrote it but I believe it was around the same time that my book "Heart Within the Pen" had been printed. Here is the backstory behind it.

One of my teachers challenged me one day with a very interesting idea, which was that both of us should take some time and write a poem about gratitude. After we finished sharing each of our own poems, we could write the poem on a small little poster, print the poster out and take it home. To show me some concepts of poster ideas, we went on to a certain website to search. While searching we found a poster of a small plant sitting by a window and I immediately got the idea to create my poem around "Flowers of Gratitude." After all the writing we finally had the poster complete which I took home and used for my Succah decorations that year.

This year, on the firstly night of Sukkos, I noticed we still had the poster hanging up there and I decided that the time had come to share it. Fun fact, I had completely forgotten about that poem, so it was pretty funny to find it after quite some time.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the poem

Have a great rest of Sukkos,

Flowers of Gratitude - Poem
Gratitude,
The flower of the deed,
When one man would go outside,
And plant a seed.

Growing steadily,
And thanking the One,
Who showers success,
And lets him bloom in the sun.

Never ending with thanks,
No matter what,
Until the end product,
The flower hes got.

We thank our creator,
He planted our seed,
Lets us grow,
In mind and deed.

We thank him every day,
For showing us the way,
Watering us,
With ease and grace.

When we finally bloom,
Our happiness is complete,
We stand among the leaves,
So proud we accomplished our feat,
But we must not forget,
Our little seed,
Planted by the one,
Who answers our every need.
