Purim Spirit Is In The House - Poem

I am writing this on Taanis Esther afternoon, a few short hours before we read the Megilah and unlock the real spirit of the joyous and glorious day. I wanted to create a poem which not only tries to capture that spirit but also makes mention of the four mitzvos of the day - Megilah, (the reading of the scroll of Esther, which detail the Purim story,) Mishloach Manos, (the giving of gifts to ones friends and relatives) Matanas Le'evyonim (charity) and Mishteh (feasting).

I hope to have done this task justice the best way I can,

I hope you've enjoyed your Purim.

Purim Spirit Is In The House - Poem
Purim is a time of joy and cheer,
Behind the mask of a costume, we hide,
Performing good deeds with a smile on our face,
Taking those we impact along for the ride.

Reading the story,
Ancient tales feels still so relevant,
Messages of miracles, prayer and hope,
The inspiration is evident.

Extending a hand to give gifts and charity,
Sensing the joy, so real and true,
Good vibes in the building as the music hypes up,
Dancing hand in hand, me and you.

Foods galore, a meal fit for a king,
Every flavor giving its own unique taste,
Appreciation for all this goodness, there is so much to count,
So I bless G-d with love and grace
