Ear To My Voice - Psalms Chapter 5 - Tehilim Poetry

We all want to be answered when we pray for good things, whether we pray for ourselves or others. We try to be as sincere as we can in our moments of prayer and do our best to ask G-d for yet another dose of his loving care and kindness in our life, or the lives of others.

In the fifth chapter of Tehilim, Dovid HaMelech, begs G-d "אֲמָרַ֖י הַאֲזִ֥ינָה ׀ יְ-הֹ-וָ֗-ה בִּ֣ינָה הֲגִיגִֽי" which translates to "Give ear to my words, Oh L-rd, consider my meditation" and it exactly that first half of the verse, which describes the thought process of every Jew, during prayer, especially on Yom Kippur, as he understands that G-d is his listening ear, the one who will hear him, the only one who can answer him. Each person prays that G-d won't turn away his request, whatever it is and "give ear" to his cries and requests.

I hope all of you enjoy this fifth poem in the Tehilim Poetry series and I wish you all a pleasant and inspirational fast this Yom Kippur.

Ear To My Voice - Psalms Chapter 5 - Tehilim Poetry
I pray to You,
With sincerity in my heart and soul,
I speak only to You,
As You hear every note in my call.

You know who I am,
You understand who I want to be,
You know what gladdens,
Also that which hurts me.

It's only You, dear G-d,
Who I trust to give ear to my voice,
Because I know you hear me,
You can hear truth despite the ringing noise,

I am your child, you are my father,
Yes, a father know the call,
Of his dear son no matter what happens,
He loves him. in his rise or in his fall.

So, Father, hear me cry,
Let me come close to You,
Hear my honesty,
Allow it to come through.

In moments of joy and sadness,
I will pray in thanks and pain,
I will pray through the sunshine,
Through clouds and rain.

It's only You, dear G-d,
Who I trust to give ear to my voice,
Because I know you hear me,
You can hear truth despite the ringing noise,

I am your child, you are my father,
Yes, a father know the call,
Of his dear son no matter what happens,
He loves him. in his rise or in his fall.
