Faith - Poem

Its a known fact, I believe, that in this generation, one of the many struggles that a person has throughout their life, is the idea of Emunah and Bitachon. For a person to know, the internalize, to confidently understand and appreciate that everything in his life, the good, the bad, the things he has, does not have, the things he wants and doesn't want, everything comes from Hashem, for a person to fully commit himself to believing in that truth, and living with it on a day to day basis is hard.

But our Neshama know it to be true. Deep within our hearts we know it too. The "pintele yid" that small spark of pure holiness which is within our core, burns on that everlasting and beautiful truth.

At some point within the last two weeks, I heard a quote from a certain non-Jewish man, which, for me, as a Jew, hit home quite effectively. The quote was "Faith is the belief in things you cannot see", which is true, if you think about it. As written above Emunah and Bitachon, the unmatched knowledge and understanding that every single things is G-d given is a hard thing to fully internalize, because sometimes we don't always see why certain things happened. We don't always get to connect the dots, So sometimes its hard to understand and accept that everything does come from Hashem.

We just don't see it.

But, faith is "believing in things you cannot see", so even if we cannot see G-ds hand in our day to day life, we must still believe he is here. 

Oh, and boy do we know that he is. We know he always there.

I now would like to present to you a poem I wrote based off that beautiful expression. I hope you like it.

Faith - Poem

Faith is the belief in things that you cannot see,
That is why they call it blind,
Because even without seeing, but rather through believing,
In darkness, we always see the light

Faith is the belief in things that cannot be seen,
So even if you don’t see G-d, know he is there,
Sometimes, in darkness, you may not see the light of good times,
But with faith and prayer, a good time will soon be there.

I cannot see into the future,
I cannot understand why things are this way,
But in my heart, I believe a good time is coming,
I believe, because I have faith.

I cannot understand why some people,
Seek to tear me down and destroy my confidence,
But I have faith in the world being kind,
Because the world cannot be with kindness.

G-d is real, despite hiding in nature,
He is beyond all comprehension, but we know he is there,
Some may ridicule, some may think we are crazy.
But they are people who lack in faith, faith tells me that G-d is everywhere.

I believe in times being as they are right now,
So that the wicked will pay, and the righteous will receive,
Faith is the connection to a Higher Power, unmatched,
With belief, faith and confidence, all is yours to achieve.
