A Letter From the Unknown - Poem
The poem you are about to read, is one which I conceptualized based on aspects of mental health. I am unsure of how exactly to describe the background and concept of the piece accurately but I will try my best to do so.
The background for this poem is that a young man, who is struggling with certain issues, desperately wishes that he could just disappear of the face of the earth and leave the sufferings and pain of the world behind. But, suddenly he finds a letter, which for some reason he wishes to read.
The letter is written within this poem
The letter is written by someone whose identity is revealed at the end of the final stanza, but only to this young man. The letter is written in a way so that it is addressed to anybody out there in the world, whoever picks up this letter and cares to read it in its entirety, is welcome to do so.
I can't seem to describe this poem any more accurately then I have done, so I will leave you all to read it.
I hope you will enjoy it and find within its words, a true and honest understanding.
Your Friend,
Yitzy Schweitzer
I know that feeling,
That you feel whenever life gets too rough,
You feel like screaming,
Because you've feel that you've had enough,
You've felt so hurt, felt so alone,
Out in the world, on your own,
Slipping away, out of control,
Until there is no way home,
But if your reading this now,
Know, I am reaching out,
Please, hold on for me a little bit longer,
Don't ever be ashamed,
Of the struggles you face,
Because, in the end, they'll make you stronger.
I know it seems to show,
That no place is home,
But right here in this moment you do belong,
So, take my hand...
Everything is broken,
A broken soul, and a shattered heart,
But it will become whole again,
Asking for help is a way to start,
Reach out to a friend, somebody you know,
Tell them your not sure where to go,
With some compassion, they will show,
The best turn to take on the road.
Oh, if your still reading this now,
Know, I am reaching out,
Please, don't ignore the writings of my hand,
I know its easier said,
Than easier done,
But G-d for you has a master plan,
Look at all the good you've done,
Why now run,
When at the start of success, you do stand
So, just hold on tight,
Your story is still being written,
Why let the ink dry away,
When you can rise beyond your boundaries,
Than tell the world about that day,
That day you found, the inner desire,
The time you kindled your burning fire,
When you saw on the mountain peak, all those climbers,
Told yourself, you will reach up higher
So, if your reading this now,
Know, I am signing out,
My name is at the bottom of this letter,
I don't know you,
That's very true,
But I sincerely hope your feeling better,
You may not know me,
But can't you see,
Some things are just coming together
So just hold on tight...
