Faith Map - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2023-24 Poem 6

 For my "Subscribers Poetry Inspiration" segment for the month of Adar Alef, I reached out to one very dear individual, who was kind and gracious enough to give me a very interesting and creative prompt, which was based upon the fact, that today, it seems the vast majority of young teens and adults cannot point out specific countries or places on a map. Whereas, maybe but a few years back, these people could have been able to point out where a certain country was on a map, now it seems like they can't do that.

I think I also may be one of those people. Yes, the joke is on me too.

Either way, after some discussions, a concept I felt worked the best for me, was this one: the concept of each individual finding their faith in G-d. 

Now, faith, and for that matter, G-d, cannot be found on a map. I don't even believe you could create a map, which would locate faith or G-d accurately, because, as we know G-d is everywhere - a small piece of heaven exists in everything and everyone, -  and faith is something internal and different for every person. One persons way of finding and expressing his belief in G-d, his faith, is different from the way another person would.

So how do we tie in the concepts of a map and a certain location, mixed with faith in G-d? How do we do that?

Well, after some trial and error, I finally came up with one piece that I think works as perfect as G-d could allow it. I have faith in that.

Lets see if you agree with where I said ones faith would be found.

Faith Map - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2023-24 Poem 6

Sometimes it seems,

G-d is nowhere to be found,

Although normally we feel his presence,

Sometimes he hides without trace nor sound.

We look all over,

Hoping to see his hand prominently in our lives,

But yet he does not show,

Leaving our days to be as dark as night.

We know he is there,

But we need now to feel him near,

Without him, we are lost, alone,

Filled with nightmares and fears.

G-ds location is not on a map,

Nor is it written out anywhere,

So, it's not surprising when we can't find him,

We wonder is he even there.

We know he is behind a mask of nature,

But we need him now to show his face,

For we've called out, prayed, hoped,

But his location still cannot be traced.

Weve looked for him everywhere,

In any territory around us,

But sometimes, all we need,

Is to look within us.

For He can be found in glory and splendor,

When we put our faith in our hearts,

Faith is the key to help us locate G-d,

We will be faithful, and so than we will find him, in the same place he was all along.

Do you know where he is now?

Have you found him after all,

Yes, that's right, he was right there within your heart,

All you needed was a bit of faith to hear his loving call
