Defining Our Unity - Thoughts of the Heart

This past Monday evening while at the Seder with my family I asked my father a question.

I asked, "Why does it say, that whomever discusses the story of our redemption from Egypt, he is praiseworthy? Why also, is there the idea of remembering this Galus when Mashiach comes? Why only about this exile does it have that idea, why not about Galus Bavel or any other time of our exile?"

After hearing a couple of answers, I gave mine which I am sharing with you now. My answer is:

This redemption was the defining moment of our identity as Am Yisrael. The redemption was one of the many events, which with G-ds kindness enabled us to become a united nation. So we must never forget our unity, which is why this exile is one we speak of daily and yearly at the Seder.

Now, when Mashiach comes - which, let it be now - that level of unity, in fact, maybe even a higher one will be reached and achieved and that is the one thing, every Jew really ultimately wants. So it, in of itself, is going to be another defining moment of our national identity as Am Yisrael. Now, we see that both the redemption from Galus Mitzrayim and Galus Edom will both be defining moments for our unity, therefore that is why I believe, we must always talk about the redemption of Egypt, so as to remember our unity and to continue it into the times of Mashiach.

I hope, not only that the thought makes sense, but that its not saying anything wrong or anything that is is not true.

I hope you enjoyed reading it, nonetheless.
