The Magic Moment - Subscribers Poetry Inspiration 2023-24 Poem 9

For the month of Iyar, I asked someone very special to help out with the next "Subscriber Poetry Inspiration". The person did not disappoint and gave me, after a couple of days, two suggestions to work with.

The first one was a poem around the concept of "Friendship", the second one was about "Simple Moments". After a quick process of elimination, I chose to venture towards creating a piece with the second concept as my base. In a discussion with the very dear and talented subscriber, I was asked to look at the simplicity of moments such as, a family meal, the joys of friendship, good memories of a fun holiday or party and so on and so forth. To create a poem about the simple, meaningful and wonderful joys of life.

I got to work and after composing one piece, which did not quite fit my subscribers vision, I let the matter rest and came back to it about a day later. It is now complete and ready for posting and so with tremendous gratitude towards the subscriber who suggested the idea, I present it to you now.

The Magic Moment - Subscribers Poetry Inspiration 2023-24 Poem 9

In darkness, the spark of light gives hope,
In a cloudy sky, the shimmer of sun gives a smile,
On a beautiful day, the simplest breeze could inspire,
The simplest things sometimes never leave our side.

It's a good meal on a calm day,
Or a kind word when the soul is torn,
It’s the comfortable bed, on a starry night,
Simplicity is sometimes all we need.

The voice of a friend, a compliment, a warm hug,
A pat the shoulder, or even just a caring stroke on the cheek,
Those moments with your friends, being happy, in the car,
Moments like these, they flash before us, we embrace them.

All those thousand of stories and tales,
About one time something happened,
Be it a simple compliment or some quality family time,
Moments are a rarity, do we recognize that?

Moments, a magical cloud of colors,
Sometimes the sincerity of the simplicity, can stay for so long,
Just the feeling of the one piece of time long gone,
Can be so encouraging, comforting, and special

Just close your eyes,
Imagine one moment, just one,
Feel the spark, the magic, the golden touch,
Open your eyes,
Do you feel it? That magic moment…?
