3 Years of Creative Blessings: A Personal Thank You For 3 Years of The Blog!!!
I'm thinking about the first day I started this blog. It was a Sunday afternoon, June 6th 2021. The first post was also on that day. It was an introduction to the blog, a welcoming, if you will..
Now I'm thinking about the first poem I put up. It was later that same week, a Thursday, June 10th 2021. The poem was titled "Silence VS Sound". It was a trailblazer. The start of something. A journey, I believe. A journey of joy, love, purpose and creativity. Exploring together, the depth of our humanity despite our struggles, both personal and as a nation.
We've learned, you and I, all of us, together. We've dived into concept after concept, creating rhymes, rhythm, stories, and so much more.
This is a community. A community of individuals who come together to share in the joys of poetry and the written word. A community who shares a love for being imaginative and creative. A community who loves, the art of storytelling, who can understand and feel, the emotion of the poem, feeling the narrative blend into a harmonious, ever-perfect tale of courage, joy, power, love or even sadness, pain, struggles and suffering.
We have been doing this now, as of today, June 6th 2024, for a wonderful 3 years. For 3 years, we have enjoyed poems, essays, stories, creative thoughts, and whatever else G-d lets me share with you. For that, I am so grateful and happy as I really enjoy sharing the unique "window into my soul", on a weekly basis, as one of my very beloved subscribers put it to me in one very special feedback email.
You know, sometimes people ask me how I come with these unique ideas. How do I take a concept, either from my own choosing or from someone else, and if the idea is one I can relate do, how do I write the poem? More than that, how is it that sometimes I can capture the concept within a time frame of just five minutes or so? How do I do that?
Well, the answer to that is...
Stay in your seats or sit down. I am about to tell you all my best-kept secret.
The answer is.. I really don't know.
*waits for the impact of the statement to hit the crowd*
No, but seriously, I honestly don't know. I know I have this gift from G-d, that he allows in his kindness, the lines rhymes and rhythm to keep flowing through me, but other than that...
I guess it could come down to a couple of things. Or maybe just one thing. I don't know. I may have a tutorial or a few top tips but right now I could only think of one, which I will share.
My top tip for writing poetry..
- Write about a topic you connect to. One of the things I do, is find ideas and concepts that speak to me and that I can relate to and try to create the poem in a way as to which the lyrics of the stanzas bring out what I want to say. Remember: If you don't connect to it, don't use it.
Anyway before I sign off on this one, I wanted to say a massive thank you to:
-Hashem, for three years of greatness in creative writing, for all the poems, essays, stories and all the other blessings in my life, thank you.
-My dear subscribers, for everything you've given me, by sending me your feedback, a Subscribers Poetry Inspiration Idea, or simply just reading what I share and enjoying it wherever you are, I thank you, because if not for your enthusiasm I will not be writing anything on this blog and most probably won't have half of any of the poems I have in mu portfolio.
Just so we are all clear, according to my blog statistics I have:
-188 poems (OMG)
All this not only comes from the blessings G-d gives me, but also comes because of your passion and love for what I share. You are all a unique and wonderful blessing in my life and I love you all.
May Hashem give you much Hatzlacha in any good endeavor you undertake and may we, together, all of us, soon make our way to Yerushalayim with Mashiach, speedily in our days.
Thank you for an amazing last three years,
Here is a silent unwritten prayer for a fourth year.
Your Friend,
Yitzy Schweitzer
