Take The Crown - Poem

Although this poem will be read after Rosh Hashana, I wanted to share it, because, even during the days after Rosh Hashana, still the awesomeness and beauty of the day remains an ever present inspiration as we approach the holy day of Yom Kippur.

This poem, which was written in August of this year, was inspired by the title of Nissim Black's opening song from his new "Glory" album. The song titled "Take The Crown" allowed me to think of the Jewish nation, as one united force, carrying the crown toward the King of all Kings, Hashem, as we prepare to crown him, in humility and grace, as our King and the worlds King, once again.

I hope you had an enjoyable and inspiring Yom Tov and humbly invite you now to read this poem.

Yours, with all the best wishes,

Yitzy Schweitzer

Take The Crown - Poem

We've been at this for so long,

Since the dawn of all time,

Been serving you with love,

Been singing, writing, creating the rhyme.

We've tried to make you proud,

By doing only your will,

There is a lot we have done,

But, a lot more we can do still.

We do this for one reason,

One purpose for these actions, is all,

We want to take your crown in all its glory,

To the home of our hearts, to the land of your truest call.

So, we try to spread your light,

Tell and show the world, that we serve only You the Divine,

For being in your presence gives us true love,

A beautiful, simple purpose, with G-d, you will find.

So, brother, sister, family,

This call is yours to answer to,

Will you take the crown home,

Carrying it together with every Jew.
