Colours - Subscriber Poetry inspiration 2024-25 Poem 2

In conversation with one of my dear extended family members who is also one of my subscribers, we were discussing various topics, when I asked her if she could kindly offer an idea for me to create a "Subscriber Poem" for the month of Cheshvan. She recommended I try and paint out a picture of a colourful world and how grateful we must be that, Hashem, the Creator, Designer, Painter, and Omnipresent power of the world, gave us this element of patterns, shading, and colors to make the world a powerful, inviting and vibrant gift full of opportunity for us.

After some more talking, I went right on to my easel (also known as my laptop, because I am not a painter), took my brush (in this case, my keyboard) and began to write out some words, just seeing what G-d could give and working with the simple strokes of his kindness to create something unique, creative and beautiful.

I present to you, the completed poem, designed to work with the concept provided, as best as possible.

Have a great week,

Best wishes,

Yitzy Schweitzer

Colors - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2024-25 Poem 2
Waking up to the colors,
Sun bright orange, its rays paint strokes in my room,
Opening up the curtains, blue skies wash like the sea into view,
Oh, for all the colors, patterns and the joy, do I thank You.

For, imagine if the world was bland,
A chrome, colorless, lifeless gray shade,
A painting just the twin of the other one next to it,
Life void inside a snapshot meant to stand unique, not the same.

If the world was chrome and gray,
What meaning would there really be within our daily life,
Would anything even matter, would emotions just be a hindrance,
Would their be a difference between sadness and the smile?

Imagine that, just for a second,
But then look around you, see the vibrancy,
For the world is G-ds canvas, He is the painter of all things we know,
His gift of color is here, enjoy it fully.

Imagine each step you take,
Creates a path of designs so complex, unique, yet simple,
Imagine each song, each note you sing,
Creates a wavelength, of melody, so beautiful,

Just recognise the palette,
Of colors around you,
Look toward the heavens,
If you can, could you say, to G-d, thank you?
