Brother - Poem
When searching for a good idea this week, I reread this piece and decided to share it, as I felt maybe now is the time that this poem will be able to find itself a place among the many I have been blessed to write. Sometimes, poems are written, yet their lines, rhymes and rhythm don't necessarily connect to you, but there is that feeling that there is still something, a message within the text, which despite not yet connecting to, at the time, in a couple of days, months or even years, the meaning will resonate and the message will feel ready to be shared.
This is one of those poems. I hope you enjoy it.
All the best,

Brother - Poem
They say you can’t have a hundred friends,
They say your true friends are those loyal few,
Who understand the visions of your heart,
Who connect with your soul, and in darkness, stand with you.
Yes, those loyal few are rare,
A diamond in dust, if I may say so,
Consider yourself rich, whenever you find these people,
Because their friendship is invaluable, as priceless as they go.
Yet, there is sometimes that one friend,
Who is more loyal than even the others,
If ever, you find him, know,
He is not just your friend, he is your brother
Now, this brother, he may not be related through blood,
But, it feels like he may just be,
His understanding, guidance and loyalty is so strong,
That you may even think of him as your family
Rejoices when you succeed,
His morals, ethics and values,
Serve as a light, illuminating the path of tranquility
He knows all your strength and flaws,
He gives you the criticism with honesty and love,
His compliments are real, earnest and sincere,
You want to always strive to make him proud, of that you can’t get enough,
The bond between you and your brother,
Is deeper than the cut of a knife,
For this bond is beyond everything,
It’s a bond for life.
This brother, yes he may not be related by blood,
But, he is still connected to your life, in some way, some part,
He is connected to you, you see, the reason may be,
Because, there is a deep love for him, in your heart
