The Promise of Evils Last Day - Psalms Chapter 10 - Tehilim Poetry
It has been a long time coming, but finally, we are returning to the "Tehilim Poetry" series. At the last entry in the series this past August, we wrote a poem based around perek nine and so to continue we must obviously write something for perek ten.
In this tenth peek, there were once again many verses that stuck out for me, however, many of the verses echoes the same thought (or hope, or plea) for G-d to wipe out all evil and destroy the wicked man, who hurts, lies, and believes that G-d will not notice his misdeeds and not bring forth punishment.
Now, having written the vast majority of the poem a couple of weeks ago and finding it hard to finish it up at the time - to the point where I only completed it earlier this week - whatever verse I chose to build the concept for the poem from, I have forgotten which one it was. However, if memory of the translations serve me correctly, I believe it was these two verses which helped to form the concept:
The main idea came from this verse:
"שְׁ֭בֹר זְר֣וֹעַ רָשָׁ֑ע וָ֝רָ֗ע תִּֽדְרוֹשׁ־רִשְׁע֥וֹ בַל־תִּמְצָֽא", which translates to -
"O break the power of the wicked and evil man, so that when You look for his wickedness, You will find it no more."
The second idea come from this one which is placed earlier in the chapter,
"יֵשֵׁ֤ב ׀ בְּמַאְרַ֬ב חֲצֵרִ֗ים בַּֽ֭מִּסְתָּרִים יַהֲרֹ֣ג נָקִ֑י עֵ֝ינָ֗יו לְֽחֵלְכָ֥ה יִצְפֹּֽנוּ", which translates to -
"He (the wicked one) lurks in outlying places; from a covert he slays the innocent; his eyes spy out the hapless"
The end result is one that after some touching up with better language and added stanzas, I finally believe, that, by the kindness of G-d, it is now ready to be shared with you.
I hope you enjoy the read,
Best wishes,

The Promise of Evils Last Day - Psalms Chapter 10 - Tehilim Poetry
Anguish lurks within the shadows of the mind of man,
Fear freezes his feet, moving his mind into worry,
The terror grips him, he falls, for he cannot stand
He trembles, for the evil grows,
Despite his cry for the wicked to rest, they ignore him,
They laugh, they scorn, they hurt and they seek to destroy,
Oh, but the good and the righteous are too pure, for evil to engulf them.
Yet despite this fear, worry and all the pain,
Even during the darkened time, the message is clear,
G-d hides now, yet for only a moment,
But He is never not with us, never forgets us, He is always here.
G-d is in the shadows, now, yes,
But the shadows don’t stay forever,
With the winds of change, the shadows depart,
G-d reveals Himself, in glory, in all splendor.
He will destroy the evil of the world,
As well as those who stand with it,
He will destroy their confidence, the glamor will rot away,
As they tremble before they are defeated, asking for mercy but receiving nothing of it
Evil has no power,
For only pawns in the game are they,
Ultimate goodness has been granted eternal,
For the good will triumph over sorrow and grief, any day.
So, rest easy dear friend,
Know evil is not forever,
For G-d waits to lure them in,
To destroy their wickedness, altogether.
