Unknown Landscapes - Poem
Earlier this week, I felt that I wanted to write something, but needed some help with finding a concept. One quick Spotify search through some of my saved "Instrumental Music" playlists and an idea began taking shape.
That idea was based around the phrase "Fantasy Land/Unknown Land". There was something magical within the phrase, something untouched that I wanted to bring out. I wrote the piece from the perspective of a seasoned world traveler, who has been to many places, sightseeing and experiencing the best of every location.
Every place he visits, is truly beautiful. But there are some locations, where the beauty and majesty truly leaves him speechless, as he senses a G-dliness within the landscapes surrounding him. There is an elevation in the air, a beckoning towards serenity, a path towards eternity. Something untouchable.
See, the reason why this is, is because not many people are brave enough to venture towards these type of locations and embrace its breathtaking beauty. Something turns them away. Yet those brave enough, those who answer the calling, those who follow the beckoning air, will only be elevated to the highest levels of themselves, as they are inspired to embrace the Loving Father, and feel the yearning to get closer to Him.
That was what I came up with, I hope you enjoy.
Best Wishes,
Your Friend,
Yitzy Schweitzer
On my travels,
I've come across many things,
I've seen different people, cultures and landscapes,
All of them, adding a colour to my paintings.
Each and every colour,
Has a story, sometimes even two,
But nothing from my memories,
Has more stories than those places I will talk about with you.
These places are barely travelled,
Unknown landscapes, they are too many,
But they hold beautiful secrets,
Worth much more than a good old pretty penny.
They hold the silent stories, of the few,
Who ventured towards them, and found peace,
For within the wide valleys, near perfect streams,
Their soul heard a voice, felt yearning for release,
When I tell you, there was nothing,
But they, themselves, with their souls awake and alive, to connect with G-d,
I tell no lie, I heard these stories for myself,
From the whispers in these unknown landscapes, who saw exactly what went on.
So if you ever are travelling,
In some places, that feels special yet untouched, unseen by all the many,
Listen for just a whisper,
It'll come, then listen, if you will, to their story.
