A Jewish Spark - Poem

As we approach the Yom Tov of Pesach, much excitement is clearly floating and flying around in the air. The food is being prepared, the houses and rooms being cleaned and the family is eagerly awaiting that magical, beautiful night. A night where we remind ourselves of our unique story of redemption from the slavery inflicted upon us in Egypt. A night where we praise and thank Hashem for all the miracles he performed for us, as he took us out.

But most of all, it is a night that we remind ourselves, who we are.

We Are Yidden. We Are the Jewish People. Hashem's chosen nation. Chosen with love. Protected with love. Guided with love.

Our Jewish identity is special. We must hold on to it and never let it go.

With many ideas and concepts swirling around in my head recently, to create a poem for Pesach, I settled on Jewish Identity as the perfect concept to work with. Here is the finished piece, which I hope you enjoy.

With Blessings,

Your Friend,

Yitzy Schweitzer

Ps. I hope to post something for next week, however am unsure whether it will be Pesach related. So, I want to to bless you here, with a bracha in writing that all of you should have a meaningful and beautiful Pesach and may we see the Ultimate Redemption and the Light of Mashiach, very, very, very soon.

A Jewish Spark

They tried to take it away from us,
They tried so many times to destroy it,
But they don't understand that it's worthless to try
Because they will never get rid of it.

Throughout all our hardships and wars,
They tried to make us feel inferior,
But they don't understand, as long we keep it alive,
We will always be superior.

I am talking about the Jewish identity,
That little spark inside you, that reminds you just who you are,
You are a Jew, created and born in His image,
You are the world's greatest light, it's star.

When you share that light,
They world stands in awe,
They understand that you have a power,
That they never ever truly saw before.

When the Jewish People combine their light,
They created a force of unimaginable strength,
Untouchable, unstoppable, their power only grows,
Until the world sees the light of Hashem.
