Mountains, Glory, Commandments & Infinity – Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2024-25 Poem 9

While on a phone conversation with a subscriber this week, we were discussing the Luchos (Tablets), that featured the Aseres Hadibros (Ten Commandments) that was given to the Jewish People at Har Sinai. After that discussion I began to think of Matan Torah, and certain other aspects of the upcoming Yom Tov of Shavuos. I decided that based on the phone conversation and the thought process that came after it, If I would be able to create a poem out of these thoughts and aspects, I will share it as a "Subscriber Poetry Inspiration" piece.

Well, here it is. Titled "Mountains, Glory, Commandments & Infinity" is discusses the beauty of Matan Torah and the special bond the Jewish People have with the Torah and its mitzvos.

I hope you enjoy it.

Have a wonderful Shavuos.

Mountains, Glory, Commandments & Infinity – Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2024-25 Poem 9

As the humble mountain became elevated with holiness,
The people stood at the foot of G-ds glory,
As the Torah was presented, a gift, a gem, a guide of infinity,
Sparkling with richness, worth more than the money.

We exclaimed, as one people with one heart,
One nation, in unison, with one voice full of spirit,
Naaseh Venishma, we will do and we will hear,
Before, you’ve told us what we should do, we want to do it.

The ten commandments, were the beginning of 613,
Commandments given with reason, sometimes without,
Yet we do all the mitzvos and learn about them,
Because He told us to, that’s part of what it’s all about.

There is so much more I can say about this,
Yet, limitless are my option, yet the page is,
So, all I’ll end of with, if you please,
Is, that we, as one, have a mission do accomplish and yes, we gotta get to it.
