Stardust - Poem

A couple of weeks back, I had a small burst of an idea to write a poem about stardust. I've always loved beautiful imagery of outer space, sunrises, sunsets and just nature in general, so something with the idea of creating a poem about stardust spoke to me.

The concept came quickly, as far as I can remember, based on the potential reasoning that, if the "stardust" term is used to refer to a dead, or dying star, lets look at it from the point of view that, perhaps maybe the star hasn't died. Maybe the stardust terminology could mean something more powerful and positive. It could be that the stardust is what is left when a star makes an impact, makes a positive difference on its surroundings.

Yes, it could also be looked at from the human perspective to.

When we feel alone or sad in life, sometimes the only thing we need to hear to raise our spirits, is that we did something right, made someones day, made an impact, a positive impact on someone, not just that day, but so many years ago that they still remember, or get inspired by even to this present time. Knowing that we did something good and meaningful for someone in one simple moment, could really bring us out of our sadness, out of hurt and misery and make us happy, make us feel energized, give us a welcome spring in our step.

Our stardust has left particles and bursts of inspiration and joy, making people smile, making people happy, making people day, all the much better.

That was the concept I worked with and after some very long minutes passed finally the light from the stars came together to create the burst of inspiration I needed, to create the full finished product.

I hope you enjoy the read,

All the best,

Stardust - Poem

Falling backwards from the height you've climbed,
Dreams of a future shatter before your eyes,
At nights fall, the darkness tightens around you,
Leaving you lost, confused, unsure of what to do.

You were once a star, bright and carefree,
But life had roads you've travelled, so long, they seemed,
Winding turns twisted everything opposite,
Sitting alone now, is this the end of it?

Your star has shattered, fallen away to the distance,
The universe seems to have left you behind,
Once so bright and hopeful, now reduced to aimlessness,
Is there a spark of life, if any, or has your star died?

But not all hope is lost,
Because somehow, from your star, dust remains,
From the fragments of  your broken heart,
A whispering of stardust calls your name.

Particles of your joy are lighting up darkened corners,
The walls of many homes remember your smile, so honest,
Your passion still inspires more people than you realise,
Stardust, whispering silent impacts before the universes eyes.

Sparks of your soul are still waiting to be woken up,
It's now the time to call to your dormant inner fire
Your heart will guide you towards your truth, if only you understand,
You still are a star, Hashems child, making the world ever brighter.

Your star has shattered, fallen away to the distance,
The universe seems to have left you behind,
Once so bright and hopeful, now reduced to aimlessness,
Is there a spark of life, if any, or has your star died?

But not all hope is lost,
Because somehow, from your star, dust remains,
From the fragments of  your broken heart,
A whispering of stardust calls your name.

Some say Stardust really is a star dying,
But let's be clear, this is a realining,
I don't believe what they say, for to me, a star never dies,
The Stardust remains, bright particles of the past, ready to continue to shine.
