Menorah Warming - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2025-26 Poem 3

Its time for our monthly dose of "Subscriber Poetry Inspiration." This month, the concept was given to me in a conversation with a very dear friend of mine who suggested to write a poem about the warmth of Chanukah and how even though the world can feel cold and dark, we have the light of our Menorah, keeping our homes full of love, light, happiness and warmth.

After a long day of trying to come up with something that would echo and do justice to my friend's beautiful concept, Hashem finally blessed me with the right words to write and rhymes to use and I was able to properly compose a piece that I was happy with, which I am so excited to share with you.

I hope you enjoy the poem.

Wishing you a truly marvelous and warm Chanukah!

All the best,

Yitzy Schweitzer
Menorah Warming - Subscriber Poetry Inspiration 2025-26 Poem 3

As the night settles upon the city,
As whether becomes colder,
In our homes, there is a warm light burning,
This light, we call it, Menorah.

Now the Menorah burns with a purpose,
It has a story, a tale to tell, you see,
It says to the world, that we, the Jewish People are here,
We are still here, and we will always be.

This Menorah, its light is not just for the decoration,
It is not just here, because someone decided it to be so,
Its here to remind us, of the light we possess,
A heavenly light is within our very soul.

The Menorah tells us, to use this light,
Just as the Menorah shines with love and warmth so should we,
We must try to make a positive, warm, impact,
In the lives of all the people we meet.

We must embrace our own light,
We must stand with pride by the window,
We must show the world, we are not afraid this time,
Because we are going on the path that Hashem wants us to go.

One more thing the Menorah teaches us,
But you could bet your last dollar, there is a lot more,
It teaches us not just to make our homes and lives warm
But to learn Torah, with a passion, with love, to make it rich and pure.

So, yes, this year let us feel that warmth,
Let us understand the purpose of our Friendly Big Ol’ Menorah,
May it be with Hashem’s help, that when we do so,
We will merit to see, the light of the Geula
