Invincible - Poem

This week, I was thinking about sharing a poem from my archives, but could not find an appropriate one, or one that I connected to in the right way. After some thought, I decided to hope on to my computer and think about a concept that I could write about, off the top of my head.

As I began this process I settled on two words I could use to create something, "Invincible" and "Hero". After selecting those words as my baseline, I came up with the "We are invincible" title line and immediately knew this poem would be about the survival of the Jewish People. Because of course it would.

Now, I am not going to lie, this one was very interesting and difficult to write. At least the second part of it. The first part came very easily and turned out fantastic, but that second part was something else. The concept was all there, just the writing and layout of each stanza was making this poem almost impossible to complete in the way I wanted it to turn out. But finally, after close to an hour of being stuck, something just shifted and Hashem blessed me with that second part.

I kept working until the finished product was on my screen.

I am so happy to have it complete.

I hope you will find it enjoyable.

Wishing you all the very best,

Invincible - Poem

It has been thousands of years,
Lost in a land not our own,
Waiting for the coming day,
When we can return home.
The world wants us down,
They want us to give up,
But, no, they don't understand,
That we will forever live on.

A promise by the Divine of a return, a redemption,
He, alone, no other, stands to guard us at all times,
Keeping our flame burning, for centuries and more,
We are His nation, His children, His pride.

Oh, we are invincible,
Undefeated,
The world stands shocked at our survival,
So Divinely orchestrated.
A nation of heroes,
Blessed by His word from long ago,,
We march forward,
one step closer to our forever home.

We are invincible,
Still surviving
While our enemies fall into the tales of history,
We stand proud, strong and thriving.
Never losing hope,
We emerge from the pain, from the sorrow,
With prayers and gratitude in our hearts,
We move forward to the promise of a new tomorrow.

Now, still after so many more years,
It feels as though nothing has changed,
We still are lost in this foreign land,
Waiting, in unity, one people with one name.
The world still seeks to tears us down,
They want to see us fall and do wrong,
But, still, they don't understand,
How we keep surviving so long.

It was a promise made by Him and His word is but eternal,
We may not be the strongest and we may even be small,
But our numbers isn't what makes strong, don't you realize,
It is our connection to Him, that keeps us strong and alive

Oh, we are invincible,
Undefeated,
The world stands shocked at our survival,
So Divinely orchestrated.
A nation of heroes,
Blessed by His word from long ago,,
We march forward,
one step closer to our forever home.

We are invincible,
Still surviving
While our enemies fall into the tales of history,
We stand proud, strong and thriving.
Never losing hope,
We emerge from the pain, from the sorrow,
With prayers and gratitude in our hearts,
We move forward to the promise of a new tomorrow.
