The Israel Truth - Poem

The following poem was written earlier this week, off the cuff.

I had an idea to create another poem based on this subject of time, as I did last week, however, I just could not get my thoughts down on the document. After a quick prayer, I waited a few minutes before trying again with a new idea and this one worked pretty well.

It is written as a sort of open letter or message to those nations and countries who seek the demise of the Jewish People. It is written as a message, bringing home the knowledge of G-d's timeless promise that His nation, Am Yisrael, will survive and remain.

Am Yisrael Chai is not just a phrase, an expression. It is a reality, the reality that we have lived with since the beginning of time. From the childhood of Avraham Avinu until this very day, and even in days oncoming, this reality has always been living, this reality has remained untouched, this reality has remained uncompromising.

Am Yisrael Chai is not just a national slogan. It is His word, delivered in an expression of resilience, courage and ferocious determination. It is a message of faith, letting the world know for the infinite counting of time, that we will survive, we are surviving, because He, and only He, willed it, wills it and promised it.

The Israel Truth - Poem

In a darkened world, made scary due to hate,
There is a small, soft light, shining someplace,
At a wall of the Temple, many thousands of years old,
Israel is the warmth that the world treats as frozen cold.

It’s nation survived so many libels and much despair,
Yet after all it’s suffering the people are still here,
While their enemies are history written in the old torn pages,
Israel is the light that has given brightness to the ages.

From Pharoah, Haman, and to everyone in between,
Inquisitions, pogroms, whoever is the enemy,
Even though they may make us suffer we truly do know,
G-d will protect Israel, our true eternal home.

History proves this trend again and again,
But every generation fools get it into their heads,
That somehow this time, they’ve cracked the code,
But when you start up with Israel, that’s where your tricks go old.

See, yes, in generation, they will hate us and lie,
But G-d won’t let these things pass you by,
While you live your life to destroy, we build and innovate,
Because G-d said to Abraham I will make your name great.

in this day and age the hatred still burns,
But our light gives comfort while their flames scar and hurt,
Once again and again, the story repeats,
G-d is sending His message out to the streets.

This hatred won’t last, G-d will make sure of that,
We will survive this modern yet ancient attack,
Soon, very soon, we will return home,
To the land of Israel, our land of Gold.
