All Those Nights - Poem

Around three years ago, Yoni Z, a popular American singer, released a song entitled "Kol Halelot" (All Those Nights) in which he talks to a special friend of his who had sadly passed away and tells him, how much he misses those times when the two were together, but, he says, specifically those times "I will not forget".

Recently, this song came to my head while I was thinking for new ideas to use for poems. I thought about the words of the song and decided to write a poem based off of them.

All Those Nights - Poem

As night begins to fall,
Stars begin to shine,
All around,
I sit by the fire with you
Feeling the warmth
Of the flames

And as you take my hand,
My heart begins to soar
We turn around to each other
And share a smile.

All those nights we spent together
I'll never forget
All the moments we laughed throughout endless time 
Throughout all the tears, pain and sorrow,
You were there for me,
And now although you're gone
Your spirit lives on

It's been difficult without you
Sitting all alone,
by myself.
A dark cloud is over me
Although the sun is meant to shine
It rains.

But I feel
Someone reach out for my hand

And so, I look up to heavens
And with you I share a smile...
