Winters Last Sunset - Poem

Winter is here. After the joys and thrills of the festival of Sukkos, the seasons shift and for most of the world winter arrives.

The chill in the air. The snow-covered roads. The short days and long nights.

Those are just some of the beautiful touches that winter bestows on our planet, and wondrous as they may be sometimes the chill in the air bites at our skins just a little to sharply. It is in those times that we should train ourselves to remember that soon winter last breeze will come and give way to a lively season of spring.

Earlier this week, one of my teachers asked me to write a poem based on the prompt of "The Last Sunset of Winter". I would like to share it here for my readers and I sincerely hope you enjoy it.

Winters Last Sunset - Poem

The winters last breeze is now
Soft, in the valley the trees sway
The sun is going down, a great rainbow of wonder
The end of a great day

Spring soon is coming
Soon the leaves will bloom on the tree so high
Sun will shine through holes in between each branch
The breeze will tenderly come by

But this is the last sunset
Of the winter season
Millions of memories have been made
And this sunset is just yet another reason
To smile
