Please Stop Bullying (Without Violence) - Poem

I have always found short films about bullying, more specificly, bullying in classrooms with young students, very interesting to watch, as there is a lot of emotion attached to the whole scenario. From the anger and hate felt by the bully, to the stress, worry and need to cry felt by the victim. All those pieces create a very important, interesting and fragile puzzle, in to the hearts of the bully and the victim.

One of the things anybody against bullying always wants to see, is the victim's way of overcoming the obstacles with his attacker and emerging victorious. One of the most important rules, when overcoming the bully however, is to not use violence in any way, shape or form. Violence won't ever solve anything in these scenarios.

Hence, the following poem, written from the perspective a fictitious older brother, whose younger brother is being repeatedly targeted by a bunch of bullies. Every time this older brother sees the pain and sadness on his siblings face, an inner sense of need for revenge always nags him. But he remains calm, because he known violence won't solve anything.

I hope you enjoy this poem,

Please Stop Bullying (Without Violence) - Poem
My brother, he is a victim
of senseless bullying, from poeple who a reason to none
To hurt him.
My brother, he is in pain
Countless tears from countless senseless attacks
From bullies who have a reason to none,
To taunt him.

There are times I wish to bring light to my inner rage
To teach these bullies a little thing or two
But violence won't solve anything
And so I speak calmly to the bullies.

When the tears still fall
And the bruises still appear
The inner rage is rekindled
The protection instinct for my brother... grows stronger

And once again, I wish
To bring light to my inner rage
To teach these bullies a little thing or two
But, violence still won't solve anything
So, I speak calmly to these bullies
