Tower of Light - Poem
When a ship out at sea encounters a storm the captain will look towards the direction of the lighthouse for guidance back to land and safety. The large beacon of light emanating from the lighthouse is often viewed as a symbol of hope and security, a "light in the darkness" if you will, as the light is visible in storms, fog and at night.
It also keeps the boat from crashing in to the rocks of the shore.
In today's world, when there are so many times that the sea of life enters into a storm, or encounters fog and darkness, it is than that as individuals and as people, we look towards our lighthouse, our source of hope and security - Hashem in heaven - and we beg and pray, that he guide us through the high waves and terror.
And Hashem listens. The light shines fourth. The captain steers his ship. And guides us back home.

Tower of Light - Poem
In the oceans far away horizon
On an island, full of rocks
A sturdy, strong tower
Watches the waves
As nightfall edges closer
Bringing peace, comfort and yet a darkness
The sturdy, strong tower
Becomes a beacon
A light in the darkness
Showing boats of the sea the way home
A beacon of hope
Guiding the captain, from storm, to safety.
Across the ocean of life
Amidst a night of storm, rainfall, and ice winds
In the distance, I see that sturdy strong tower
I smile, slowly turn my boat around
And journey, forward
In to the arms of the beacon
In to the arms of the tower of light
Into the arms of safety
In the direction of my true home.
In the oceans far away horizon
On an island, full of rocks
A sturdy, strong tower
Watches the waves
As nightfall edges closer
Bringing peace, comfort and yet a darkness
The sturdy, strong tower
Becomes a beacon
A light in the darkness
Showing boats of the sea the way home
A beacon of hope
Guiding the captain, from storm, to safety.
Across the ocean of life
Amidst a night of storm, rainfall, and ice winds
In the distance, I see that sturdy strong tower
I smile, slowly turn my boat around
And journey, forward
In to the arms of the beacon
In to the arms of the tower of light
Into the arms of safety
In the direction of my true home.
