Sunbeams of LIFE - Poem
As part of his 2012 album "Keep Climbing", Jewish Music superstar Avraham Fried features a song entitled "Light", a fun and upbeat anthem, in which he gives over the message that "a little bit of light drives away the darkness." This expression, which has been part of the Jewish DNA since the dawn of time, has always remained truthful and clear. As the popular Jewish pop-rock band, 8th Day puts it, "When there is nothing left, your true colors show". Whenever tragedy or sorrow strikes, somehow, we always pull through.
I recently found yet another version of this expression which states,
"A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows"
The sun is always associated with heat and warmth not just spiritually but also in terms of weather. When the sun shines, it is of course beautiful, yet so often, sometimes we find ourselves darting in for shade, to escape the heat of the sun.
However, when we are in the grasp of cold, unwelcoming shadows, we wish for a ray of lights, a sunbeam, in a sense, to come and show us the way out.
This for me is the basis of the expression mentioned two paragraphs above. It is now with great joy that I present to you my poem based on it.
Happy reading,

Sunbeams of LIFE - Poem
The brighter it will become, because,
A single sunbeam is enough,
To drive away many shadows.
Even at the darkest hours,
There is still time for a bit of light.
Even when you’re feeling down,
Why don’t you lift up your head?
Light travels really fast,
Too fast for me to explain,
But it’s coming towards you, believe me,
It will be here very soon,
Very soon indeed.
Darkness does not like it, oh no,
When light comes to disturb him.
So just tell him that sunrise is on his way,
Watch him as he runs off
:)
The brighter it will become, because,
A single sunbeam is enough,
To drive away many shadows.
