It's Enough! - Poem
This past Motzei Shabbos, in collaboration with the famed Thank You Hashem movement, the talented singer, composer and musician, Joey Newcomb, released a song called "Mi Sheomar", an emotional, heartfelt piece performed and arranged to perfection, based, of course, on the beautiful and familiar possuk of
"מי שאמר לעולמו די, יאמר לצרותינו די"
"He who says to His world "Enough", should say to our suffering, "Enough",
"מי שאמר לעולמו די, יאמר לצרותינו די"
"He who says to His world "Enough", should say to our suffering, "Enough",
I was touched by the song and a few hours after listening to it, a concept for the opening verse of the following poem came to me. After writing it down, I decided I must finish it.
Here is the result.
I hope you like it.
My best wishes only,

PS. I find it pretty ironic how my last post was the poem "The Wait" which talks about how we will still keep waiting for Moshiach, even if he takes a long time and now this poem is saying, as you probably can guess by the tittle, that we've suffered enough and Moshiach should come now. I find that pretty ironic of me to write.
However I believe there is a difference to the two poems. "The Wait" was written from the perspective of an emotional plea to Hashem, which ends in a hopeful aspect. This one you are about to read, details our need for Moshiach in a more desperate fashion, which I hope you will enjoy.
It's Enough!- Poem
Haven't we suffered enough?
Haven't we cried enough?
When will our sorrow turn to celebration?
And when can we cry tears of joy?
Haven't we suffered enough?
Haven't we cried enough?
When will our sorrow turn to celebration?
And when can we cry tears of joy?
How much longer must we wait?
Trapped in darkness, with no place to go?
How many lives torn apart, when will they be whole?
How much more happiness, must be destroyed?
It's been too long, father,
Enough, oh, it's enough,
We can't wait forever, father,
Enough, it's enough,
Take us home now, father,
We've waited long enough,
Don't you agree, father
It's enough?
Trapped in darkness, with no place to go?
How many lives torn apart, when will they be whole?
How much more happiness, must be destroyed?
It's been too long, father,
Enough, oh, it's enough,
We can't wait forever, father,
Enough, it's enough,
Take us home now, father,
We've waited long enough,
Don't you agree, father
It's enough?
How many chains must be broken?
How many hearts, shattered?
How many souls, lost and alone?
How many nights, must we lie awake?
How many more days until He comes?
To redeem us, from the prison of our pain?
How much longer can we stand whole, until we fall apart,
How long will we wait?
It's been too long, father,
Enough, oh, it's enough,
We can't wait forever, father,
Enough, it's enough,
Take us home now, father,
We've waited long enough,
Don't you agree, father
It's enough?
My child, I know how long you've waited,
It's enough, I agree,
I am coming, my child, to take you home,
It's enough, yes I agree,
Reach out, dear child, take my hand,
You've suffered enough,
To your suffering, I say,
How many hearts, shattered?
How many souls, lost and alone?
How many nights, must we lie awake?
How many more days until He comes?
To redeem us, from the prison of our pain?
How much longer can we stand whole, until we fall apart,
How long will we wait?
It's been too long, father,
Enough, oh, it's enough,
We can't wait forever, father,
Enough, it's enough,
Take us home now, father,
We've waited long enough,
Don't you agree, father
It's enough?
My child, I know how long you've waited,
It's enough, I agree,
I am coming, my child, to take you home,
It's enough, yes I agree,
Reach out, dear child, take my hand,
You've suffered enough,
To your suffering, I say,
ENOUGH!
