One More Brick - Poem
I write this Wednesday, Erev Tisha B'av morning, I'll be honest, pretty much lost for what to say. But as I think about what I can say, some questions arise in my mind.
The first one is, how is it that we are back, once again at this time of year?
The second one is, of course we know Mashiach can come at any moment, so can he please come now?
The third and final question is, what more can we do to be able to return to our City of Gold with the third Beis HaMikdash in all its glory?
I am unsure to the answers of the first two questions yet, I do have a suggestion for the third one.
In my humble opinion, I would suggest, to answer that third question, that each of us, each one of us, understands our virtues and greatness so that when we perform Mitzvos and do acts of kindness we do them with a full a heart that we can. In this way, G-d will return His beloved nation to the City of Gold with the Third Beis HaMikdash, with an equally full heart.
Hey, before you read the poem let me tell you this. It is not a secret so you may share it with others. It is not really that hard to perform good deeds. For all we know, with our limited understanding, it could be that all it will take is YOUR good deed that will bring the redemption quicker that we can imagine.
I hope you enjoy the reading of the poem
Best Wishes,

So many years wandering the streets,
So many nights of confused thoughts,
So many slumbers of vicious dreams,
Waiting for our home,
To be rebuilt to its best,
Each day, each good deed,
One brick more, one brick next.
What if we knew,
One more brick is all it would take,
For greatness to be known,
Our Father in heaven, Him proud we'll make?
What if it took one more brick,
For a forever and complete home?
One more brick means one more good deed,
Togetherness is how we belong.
Thousands of years, countless deeds,
But now it comes down to this,
Years of horror wiped away,
For heavenly, authentic bliss.
A simple gesture, a warm smile,
Really it is so easy to be kind,
Just look with honest eyes and a real heart,
Who knows what you'll find?
What if we knew,
One more brick is all it would take,
For greatness to be known,
Our Father in heaven, Him proud we'll make?
What if it took one more brick,
For a forever and complete home?
One more brick means one more good deed,
Togetherness is how we belong.
