Cloud Gazing - Poem

Let us travel back in time this week. At the beginning of the year, I was writing a lot of poems based on prompts about nature. From poems about the skies, to the shores of the sea, if a nature based idea spoke to me and connected with me, then there was some magic, some idea that was just waiting to be released and delivered to those who would read it.

This weeks poem is no different. As some of you may remember, the way I would create such a nature poem is by looking at playlists of instrumental music and picking out a title that felt ambiguous, open-ended or even, mystical and mysterious enough to create something out of. This poem was done in that very way.

Anyhow, now that we have that out of the way, I hope you will enjoy this calm, hopeful and relaxing poem about a young man who just wishes to momentarily step away from the world and to be embraced and enchanted by the wonders of a sunset, in all its glory and splendor.

I hope you like it.

Best Wishes,

Cloud Gazing - Poem
A soft, winter night has come,
Evenings color lights up my skies,
Sunsets magic, it's now the moon turn,
So, along with the stars, it gives light.

I am outside, sitting on a bench,
Watching the gradients flow throughout,
From bright gold-yellow, to serene fantasy blues,
I am just gazing, in wonder at the clouds.

The streets are now quietning,
People heading inside their homes,
I am happy, so perfectly happy,
To sit outside, on my own.

Just to keep watching,
Find and search for a changing shade,
Gaze at the clouds, till no longer I can,
Till my eyes close at the hour is late.

Don’t disturb me,
Let me peacefully at the clouds, gaze,
Marvel, for just a simple second longer,
At G-ds wondrous ways.
