A Mothers Love - Subscribers Poetry Inspiration 2023-24 Poem 2

The love of a mother.

A secret between the heroins of times gone into the past. Between them, and G-d.

A love that never dies, never ceases, never stops.

It's hard to put words down to describe that love.

For love is sometimes but a language spoken by the wordless embrace of... A Yiddishe Mameh.

For the second poem in my "Subscriber Poetry Inspiration" segment, I was asked to create a poem about a mothers love. What you are about to read is what I came up with, yet I assure you, there is another concept bubbling away, somewhere. I know not, when I will sit down to write out the finished product of that concept yet, I know that on this topic, I am not done writing.

I hope that this simple and sincere poem will be enjoyable for you to read and I thank the unnamed subscriber who shared with me this idea.

Please remember to share your ideas, if you wish to, by following the instructions I listed out in the announcement email that was sent out, so that I will be able to expand this series and have more input form you all, my wonderful friends and family who support me.

Have a great week ahead,

Yitzy Schweitzer

As the Shabbos candles,
Spread light all around,
My mother stands by the table,
Without a sound.

Its a prayer between her and G-d,
Special words only they know,
A silent soulful tear-filled prayer,
Asking that her children, in Torah and Mitzvos grow.

Oh, Mother, dear Mother,
If only you knew,
How much I truly, truly,
Do love you.
I know you are proud of me,
With whatever good I can do,
I will always be your son,
Nobody can ever take me away from you.

All those nights when the world seemed not to care,
If one listened closely, they would hear your voice,
Praying in silence, in hours late,
Silent screams cutting through the worlds noise.

A mother loves her child,
Ultimately more than the child will ever know,
The bond is deeper, deeper than words could ever say,
But one things for sure, with her love, a child is never alone.
