A Prayer in the Silence - Poem
I was browsing on Spotify for classic piano pieces to listen while I was working this week and found a piece called "A Prayer to the Silence". I immediately thought to try and write a poem based on that concept, so I did.
I began writing the words that came to me and after some minutes, the finished product was in front of me. It ended up being written, - while obviously as a "prayer-like poem" - more in the image that after chaos and darkness comes a peaceful silence and that when the people within the poem would thank G-d for the peace he'd granted and pray for yet more goodness, they would pray in serenity, in silence.
Now, I present to you all, albeit with a slight change from the original title, this weeks poem, "A Prayer in the Silence".
I hope you like it.
Wishing you all the best,

A Prayer in the Silence - Poem
Peace has come,
The silence has settled,
The heart is healed,
The breeze is alive.
From the chaos,
We made it through,
From the darkness,
We emerge stronger.
So we offer our thanks, to You.
And, but a small prayer in the silence.
For peace, let it not be rare,
Let health be ripe and true,
Let our children play on the streets,
Let them dance on the way through life.
Let honesty be a common thread,
Allow truth to be seen,
Allow the horizon to bring hope,
Allow the silence to speak of love.
Yes, this is our prayer,
A nation as one, seeks this and yet more,
Hear us, oh, Hashem, in the noise,
Hear us, too, please, in the stillness of silence
