Sweet As Spring - Poem
As the Yom Tov of Pesach is coming right on up and as the UK enters daylight saving time this upcoming Motzo'ei Shabbos, this means that spring is fully in motion, fully in action, fully in "spring-swing", if you will, hence, G-d gave me an idea to write a simple poem about the season of spring.
The piece itself is short, sweet and almost humorous, as I touch upon little things that change throughout the switch up between winter and spring. I incorporate, the skies, as they change from grey to blue, the flowers as they become full, in beauty and bloom and even bring in some musical callings as I make reference to the sunrise songs of the early bird of a spring morning.
I hope this little piece puts a smile on your face and gives you a - mind the horribly over-used pun - spring (haha, not funny) in your step.
With Blessings,
Yitzy Schweitzer
As the winter cools off,
The frozen patches melt into the spring,
As the sky changes shades from greys to blues,
The birds, their song is heard clearer at the sun's earlier rising.
The flowers express themselves,
In color, blossom and beauty,
Nature has awoken, slumber is no more,
As the lion's morning roar echoes through the jungle, early.
The season is spring, they call it,
For it is now that nature springs into action,
The days get longer, shorter are the nights,
As the world realities summer is on the horizon.
The weather changes, a little rise,
As temperatures start to climb.
Hotter days brush off the colder ones,
As nature takes its course at the perfect time
Embrace these changes, as the season emerges,
Recognise the truth in the natural wonders, hint there is more than seven,
See the greatness created for you,
On High, by G-d in heaven
