Bird on a Branch - Poem

About a month ago, I saw a video of a man who was asked what advice he would give to his younger self. He answered with a beautiful expression, that is so rich and deep in wisdom and encouragement. I heard the expression and immediately felt the calling to compose a poem based on it, which you will be able to read below.

However, before reading the poem, please take a moment to read the expression for yourself.

The expression is:

"If a bird lands on the branch, does the bird trust the branch or does it trust its wings? The clue to the answer is, that I've seen many birds land on branches but what I've never seen is a branch break and a bird fall and die. Trust your wings".

Now, that you have read the expression, I humbly invite you to read my poem based on it.

Have a wonderful day,

Bird on a Branch - Poem

A sweet little bird was flying around,
Landing on branches, to rest and sing,
After some time, he flew off again,
A simple singing bird, flying, flapping his wings.

From branch to branch, with a song for every stop,
This little bird kept up his performance with grace,
Every branch was an opportunity to stop and sing,
No matter the height, distance, the branch was his stage.

See now, let's pause the story,
Think about this for a moment, please,
How does a bird know which branch is safe,
How come it can stay there singing in peace?

Well, see, the answer to this question,
Is yet another question I give you to ponder and think,
The question is, when a bird lands on a branch,
Does it trust the branch, or, perhaps, maybe its wings?

The answer is the bird trusts its wings,
Oh, don't worry now, I'm gonna to tell you why,
See, I've seen many birds land on branches,
But I never saw a branch break, and a bird fall and die.

See, because if a branch would begin to unsteady,
The bird would begin to be sky-bound,
If it happens to be, the branch would snap and break,
By then the bird would be safe and sound.

In fact, I'm almost sure, you can hear him,
His soft melody and pleasant tunes are hard to miss you know,
If you just allow yourself to listen, you may just hear,
A bird, singing in comfort and peace, for his maker, putting on the show.
